Why do babies suddenly cries out loud in their sleep as if they are very scared of something? Did you experience this with your baby?

My baby cries out at times in the night. Possibly a bad dream, maybe a short lived tummy ache. I really don't know since he is unable to tell me. He usually stays asleep though.

Babies make sounds in their sleep. And these sounds do not mean that baby needs you. Babies moan, grunt, snuffle, whimper, and even cry in their sleep. Babies can even nurse in their sleep. You need to listen and watch your baby carefully. Learn to differentiate between these sleeping sounds and awake and hungry sounds. If she is really awake and hungry, you'll want to feed her as quickly as possible. If you do respond immediately when she is hungry, she will most likely go back to sleep quickly. So, the key here is to listen carefully when your baby makes night noises: If she is making "sleeping noises"˜ let her sleep. If she really is waking up ˆ tend to her quickly.

My has been on the same way.. he used to suddenly cry for fear as he's dreaming. And not only that, more often, he's laughing on the contrary. I think it's just that he's building up his various sensitivities. Best thing for that is we shouldn't make him afraid and be there for him always.
