Why do you smoke when you know it's bad for you?

We all smoke for different reasons and we all quit for different reasons. It is always different for everyone. I smoked because I enjoyed it and when I was working it helped keep me calm. I gave up smoking because it was time. My parents smoked for more than half their lives and they quit. It was thier choice. People do not want to quit when others brow beat them and tell them what to do. People do not like the government stepping in and telling them what to do in their free time. If you think about it everything we eat, drink or do in life is bad for us in one way or another.
