Why fire fires upwards only why not downwards?

If anybody know the reason why it is please do response for this discussion just i want to know the truth and also the science behind it.

Fire moves upwards because its tendency in the physics of combustion, is to occupy air sufficient enough to sustain the burning process. Also, it goes up because carbon monoxide, being the by product of combustion tends to move upwards in the rapid oxidation.
