I wonder how many people pay for extended warranties and insurance for electronic goods they buy. I bought a five year extended warranty on my computer in 2001 and never needed to use. The computer has worked fine all these years and I have wasted £300. I guess there are many stories about extended warranties and insurance for electronic goods, here is your chance to share them.

I never take any extended warrantied and insurance for any goods i purchase. IT is a waste of money as you experienced yourself. They are local repairers who are well trained and if something goes wrong they would look after the goods.

Well, it's always better to be safe than to be sorry, especially if you can afford it. Awhile ago my friend's computer just stopped working for no apparent reason. He didn't have a warranty, so his computer was out of commission for a few days. I laughed at his expense, but then told him to try getting a warranty next time. He ended up going to a shady computer shop and having people tamper with his laptop. Fortunately they were able to fix it, but it still cost him a lot.
