most of the time when i lose my lighter its cuz someone i know likes to play the lighter game. for u that don't know what that is its when u ask to use someone elses lighter and while they're not lookin then u sneak off wit there lighter. the plan is once u get there lighter they can't get it back. if i can't find my lighter then i just use the stove. never thought about using the toaster

I've done it off a flat electric oven before. You just have to get the element nice & red hot, then use it. What a waste of electricity, but when you need a smoke you do desperate things.

I have never thought to use the toaster. I just usually use the stove. You'll probably get a laugh out of this but I have two lighters that should have been thrown away. One has fluid but the flint wore out, the other has the flint but no fluid. I take the flintless one and hold down the button and and take the other one and make a spark to light the other one. Its funny to watch but sometimes I don't feel like getting up and going to the stove.

I'd get in the habit of keeping some matches in a safe place in the house. You never know when the power will go out & you'll need to light candles. As long as they're put up from the kids, it can't hurt to have them in the house.

yes, that is true, it seems though I always forget when I go to the store, I should probably go add them to my list now. Thanks =)

Drives me nuts when I lose my lighter! I usually have matches laying around here and there, but if I can't find those then I use the stove. I never thought of the toaster! Will have to give it a try next time...lol

my gf when she finds a lighter lying around she always manage to take it with her all the time that's why i'm always praying for the only one thats left with me not to run out of fluid cause my back up lighters are always missing in action anyways but i don't mind

I don't smoke. Can't stand the odour. However, here in India few smokers use lighters. Most carry a matchbox, and lend one. The question, "Have a match?" is snynonymous with, "I'm a smoker".
