Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and think that it is a stranger looking back at you that u are somehow detached from life. I was having a bad time of it emotionally and financially everything seemed like it was coming apart at the seams really and when i looked in the mirror i saw someone who looked sad and lost in depair i looked like a stranger to me i didnt know me anymore. Things have been changing for me though and everyday when i look in the mirror i can see more and more of me coming back and it is great. Have you ever felt like this before like you didnt know yourself anymore?

Life is up and down. We all have better and worst days. When you are down with nothing, god is always up with something for you....:) warm wishes! I am sure that bad time for you is over..:)

Not really but I do remember the first time I pulled my head out of my sweater and saw my mother starring back at me. LOL That was a wake up call for me. I did not enjoy that at all. It was at that point that I began using make up again. LOL

Honestly no-- I have had hard times before when things are just not good-- but I've never had that feeling- I'm so glad that things are getting better for you- and you are able to recognize yourself again- thats great news! Keep it up- doing whatever you are doing!

I looked in the mirror today and saw this woman I never wanted to become. It was so discouraging to see how fat I have become. Truly, this isn't exaggeration. I've gained thirty pounds over the past year and I was already obese. I am so weary of taking care about my diet that I just let it go and don't have the energy and motivation to get it back. I looked at myself and thought, "You are just like the women you felt sorry for in the past, women who were so obese that it affected their mobility." I felt ashamed and very sad.

I know what you mean, kitkat. When we're undergoing a lot of stress and fatigue, depression will set in. This is the time when we begin to lose our perspective as well as our real sense of identity. No matter how hard we stare at the mirror, we will never recognize ourself. I'm glad to hear that you are recovering slowly and surely. It is not easy but something we must deal with in order to put some semblance of peace in our life again. I wish you more courage and be able to conquer everything.
