I am worried now because when I went to see my OB and she told me that my sugar was high when she got the result of my bloodwork. She wanted me to do bloodwork again to make sure that I don't have gestational diabetes at this late stage of my pregnancy (am already on my 36th week). Now, this got me worried because I never had any problems with my first pregnancy. I had to do another glucose test, stayed at the clinic for almost 4 hours while they draw blood every hour. Anybody had this problem while they were pregnant? I am so worried right now and stressed out because it will be bad for the baby. My tummy is not that huge and I am not gaining any weight these past couple of weeks when I have my check-ups. My OB told me she doesn't want me delivering a 9 lbs+ baby (coz my first was 8 lbs 1/2, normal) and am scared of C-section. I will know the result by Monday and until then, I just can't stop worrying.

Hi I had it with both of my pregnancies let me tell you that you will be fine as long as you what you are suppose to. I had to take insulin 2 times a day with both preg. my first was only 4lbs 13 oz she quit growing cause the placenta started to get old cause they didnt catch it till 30 weeks and my second baby was 6 lbs 4 oz she was born early cause of a car wreck but they detected it at 16 weeks with her but its really not that bad as long as you can control it i couldnt well good luck

I was gest. diabetic while I was pregnant. The best thing I can tell you is that the diet is not that bad. You will learn to count carbs and calories, and be given a menu to go by. Well I was anyway and I think you will also , IF you do not do well on the second set of tests. A lot of people will have good results and be just fine. My daughter was 8-3 and I had no symptoms after her birth, and still haven't. She will be 11 in a month. Please do not get to worried. There is only a chance that you do have it and if you do, the stress you are having about it could make it worse. This is a common occurrance and not a BIG problem, if you just follow up what the doctor suggests for you1 =o}
