Which features are important in choosing a laptop

I am going to buy new laptop next week, but I am confused as to which features should I look for while selecting one. I don't want to be swayed by the sales talk from variuos companies

Ok than look which operating system it has, look that it has nw processor technology, DVD writer, inbuilt speakers, also a camera if needed, storage capacity, they must give u the headphones with it.

Thanks for the advice but knowing which brand offers the best features (quality for money) would be useful, as my budget is limited.

when I bought my labtop a few months ago I was looking for features such as a dvd burner a cd burner and thats pretty much it I really dont know what else to look for but im happy with my labtop

Which brand do you have? Is it worth the money you spend? What do you use it for mainly? I need my laptop for browsing and getting information from the web as well as for using my music programs.
