why is america getting so fat?

Have you noticed over time how many more people are becoming obese? I have. I wonder what the problem is. Are we just becoming a country that is lazy? I know that if I don't watch what I eat, and if I don't get any excercise I gain weight. That's when I slack off and get off my butt and do something. Thank goodness I'm not overweight, I am not okay with that. I don't understand why it seems like so many people just don't seem to care about their health.
