Shooting too close to home

Yesterday while sitting in my livingroom I heard 4 gun shots fired. I rushed closed my blinds and turned my house alarm on. My 2 little ones were close to me just in case we had to run to another room of the house. Come to find out there was a robbery at the store on the corner of my street which is only 2 houses away. I hated that they put it there to begain with and knew it would only bring trouble. Guys hang out there all the time drinking beer and making a mess on the street. Making our street look really trashie. My sister in law called me and told me that the guys were on the run to lock my doors. It was on the news yet so we weren't sure of all the details. I didn't know if these guys were on foot or in a car but I wasn't taking any chances. Since hurricane Katrina since the city hasn't gotten back to where it was and more of the people who use to live in the city now live around here crime has gotten worse in our area. So damn that hurricane.
