NEW YORK: Coca-Cola is hoping its new cellphone-centric Web site for social networking, Sprite Yard, will become the MySpace of the cellphone world. Now this is technology and advertizing gone way overboard. Come on "SPRITE YARD"? I guess it was introduced into China not too long ago. This is going to be very interesting to see how this idea pans out. For the time being it will be accessible only by cellphones. I'll wait to see it online before I check it out. Especially seeing I don't own a cellphone. Hahahaha! Here's the link to the whole story. Check this out. It sounds funny. I learned a lot about some other Coke things I never knew they recently did and or awarded. Please read it. http://iht.com/articles/2007/06/07/business/sprite.php HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I can just see the astronomical cell phone bills now from all of the data charges run up by teenagers. Plus, kids are too tuned into their cells, ipods, and other technical gadgets as it is. Add this to their cell phone options, and they'll NEVER get their school work done. It will be interesting to see if it survives or not.

Well, that is surprising. You and I are the only two on the planet that don't own at least one cell phone. I don't know what the purpose of this site is other than to sell more Coke and Sprite (you can make book on that), or introduce new products. Don't we have enough social sites already? And I am wondering if we had a few close friends, would we need all these social sites?

Hehe... I doubt it because they're are already a few decent mobile networking sites which I don't see coca-cola keeping up with. Although it's interesting that they've decided to spread out and do this. Thanks for sharing the story! ~Joey
