Just when you think you have seen it all -- Transdermal hand gel with nicotine?

Nicogel - This is a hand gel that gives a transdermal dose of nicotine to people who want to quit smoking.

I just saw this in the eBay ads on myLot and had to discuss it. This may be good or bad, I'm not sure. I know that many people have a problem with quitting smoking, or in my case, wanting a family member (like my stepdaughter) to quit. I keep sending her websites and thought this one is an interesting one. Apparently you use this like antibacterial hand gel but it helps crush your craving for smoking by delivering a dose of nicotine through your skin. Very interesting. If you want more info: This link has a news report and a film about it. http://www.keloland.com/NewsDetail6162.cfm?Id=0,54360 This link is the site for Nicogel http://www.nicogel.net/

That seems to work on the same idea as the patch.

Except it seems you can use it each time you need a dose, whereas the patch is rather static once you apply it. By applying the gel, it would appear to me that you also are doing something active with your hands, which is part of the problem that quitters have with their ambitions. Smoking is as much an occupation of the hands as it is an oral fixation.

I do not know if it works but I have seen that before. It just seems weird to me. I think addictions can be broken if you set your mind to it. People who really do not want to quit can buy everything in the world but their brain will reject it because they do not want to quit. I quit in one day. I woke and said that is it I am done. and it is that simple and easy. Once you have it in your mind you can quit.
