I just want to ask advice from you specially those dog lovers, that the puppies are still nursing from their mother, when she got lost. Do you think these puppies can eat solid food now? what do you think is the best for them?

The pups should be starting soft canned dog food be now (they are 4 weeks you said, right?) Formula supplement for the calories and nutrition here is the recipe that I use on my pups (my girl doesn't produce enough milk). 10 oz. Goats milk 1 large raw egg 1 cup whole yogurt (not skim or low fat) 1/2 tsp. corn syrup (not honey) blend until mixed you don't want air bubbles. Bubbles will get into the pups stomaches and then you have colic. when you hold the bottle upside down the formula should drip out not flow. Don't get formula in the pups lungs this will give them pneumonia. If they are eating solids they shouldn't need much formula. Through out any left overs after 7 days and make more.

Your welcome. Just make sure that you burp them like a baby, because they are bottle feeding they will get gas. Enjoy, it is fun to bottle feed them, my brother took care of the last litter that my girl had and he giggled like a kid every time he fed them.

they need milk, the veterinarian advice me with my puppy before to havae atleast 250 drops of milk every hour. Its like a full of workload. I also gave them tiki-tiki. I don't know if you know it, but i think that is a vitamin good for them, not only in human.

Puppies start to eat additional food when they are between two and three weeks old. When they are three weeks old they should be able to eat by themselves and survive. Until three weeks of age you for sure will have to bottle feed. Ask your vet, he has special preparations for very small puppies. I feed first class ground beef, lean. Milk of cows is not good enough. You would have to give condensed milk with a little oil added and an egg yolk mixed in. Puppies get diarrhea very quickly and need to go to the vet to survive as they dry out very quickly. You can soak puppy kibble in milk to make it softer but it takes days to get them used to it. Some baby cereals work good, some cause diarrhea. Little puppies need five to six meals a day, every two to three hours and once in the middle of the night. So, go to your vet, get advice and food! If they get diarrhea they get a shot with fluids and a penicellin shot and then they do survive. And you should keep them nice and warm because they are used to moms body temperature. They catch a cold fast. You have to clean the behind. It works if you use a cotton ball. Then they can pee and have bowel movements.

I add you to my friends and you can send me a message if you have problems. Weigh the little ones at least twice a day. They have to gain weight, who doesn`t gain weight has a problem!

You may try using a piece of cloth, dip it in a glass of milk and let them sip from there. Or better yet, buy a milk bottle for new born and have them drink milk. They can eat solid food after at least 2 mos. but it should still be with a little liquid in it. Good luck!
