I've noticed here on myLot that many, many people cannot spell words correctly. This is a pet peeve of mine. Should myLot implement a spell checker? How do you feel about the matter?

I agree with you that misspelled responses are hard to read and can be annoying. myLot should have a spell checker; in fact, this issue has been brought up many times in the past and the administration has not responded. Firefox browser has a spell checker which I always use before posting my responses; that's one option. You also have to realize that some just simply don't care- they want to post rapidly in order to earn money. There are also those who don't speak English as their native language, and a spell checker would help them to learn as they could see their spelling corrected. It would be a great addition to the site.

Thanks for all responses. I know that sometimes, when I'm very tired, I'll hit the wrong key and make a mistake, but some postings I see are just filled with errors. I have to agree that some just might not care, but words that are spelled incorrectly stop the flow of words, at least for me, and "interrupts" my reading.

I'm with you on this, words that are spelled in correctly just seem to jump off the page at me and make a message hard to read. I think spell checker will help those that don't really mean to spell things wrong, but won't help those that don't care. They will just not use the spell checker.
