I started wearing glasses about 5 years ago, I was happy and satisfied (and if I may say so.. cool..because everyboby wants to wear glasses even though they don't have eye sight problems..I think they're influnced by "Harry Potter") but years after I find glasses bulky and a bit hassle so last year I asked my mom to get me contact lenses, well I tell you it was a long process before I got my contacts..my mom and I went through alot of debates..anyways, I got my contacts..I liked it, was ok..but days after I find much hassle wearing them than the glasses, and my eyes get tired so easily after an hour, it gets dry and it felt like it was eating up my eyeballs..hehe..seriously...I'm not used to it yet and I think I'll never will..so now I never wore them again, I went back wearing my glasses...I do want to have the surgery but I'm scared of what are its side effects...

ive been wearing glasses since i was about 18 i think. lol im 32 now..you do the math. ive also used contact lenses..which i like not having the frames and all but at the same time, if you get something in your eye its such a hassle (and sometimes painful) it takes much longer to get your lenses in, in the morning than it does to just put your glasses on..and my mornings (at the time) were already pretty hectic. so i went back to glasses. they makes some very very light frames nowadays, which i love cause the heavier ones used to give me headaches too. but they are so lightwieght now that they dont bother me at all. i would never consider that eye surgery..the whole idea of someone cutting into my eye or lasering into my eye just freaks me out!! not to mention that i have met 2 ppl that the surgery didnt "take" on. they could see great for about a year, then their eyesight got worse then before they had the surgery! i dont know why or how that would happen..but i wouldnt want to take the chance and waste that much money just to have my sight get even worse!

how scary! i never heard about those 'failed' cases for surgery, but that's really something. personally, i would be too chicken to try surgery though.

I wear contact lenses. I have a pair of glasses just as a backup, but I prefer the contacts. I think it would be really cool to have the surgery done and not have to deal with either, but I doubt I'll probably ever get it done unfortunately. My eyes are really bad, so I'm not sure if it would totally correct my vision or just improve it. I guess I'd have to find out more about it.

I wear contacts and glasses. I am afraid to get lasix done. There have been no long-term studies to show the effect on the eye later on. I don't want to be a little old lady and blind because no one knew the effects many years down the line.

It's so hard for me to know what's actually normal and what isn't. This is how I've seen for my whole life, so I didn't even know most people don't see like I do. I will try to answer as much as I can, I am also currently wearing a pair of glasses. I have been wearing glasses since I was 10 years old and I have more than 15 years experience of wearing glasses.
