It is said that first impressions are lasting impressions.People form opinions and make judgements about us the first time they see or hear us.And these opinions can not be changed easily later. Bad first impressions often lead to unpleasant results, for example,if you are a salesman and have left a bad first impressions on your customer,he will probably refuse to buy your product.Create a good first impression and relationship grows from there. On the contrary, create a bad impression and your relationship with that person can be uphill battle. Then how to leave a good impression on others?First and foremost, good maners are essential, being polite and friendly with others will help you earn their favor.and it is also important that your appearance is clean and neat. That is my opinions, what about you? how do you leave a good first impression?

I would agree with you on those and it does sound like they would work. I also think being yourself can go a long way too.

Once when Abraham Lincoln had to attend a important meeting, long before he was president, he went to a friend and borrowed a good suit. He said that he did not want anyone to judge his core by the kernel. So it proves that even he was keen on creating a good impression. Your first impression depends on how well you are groomed. Also you must not feel uneasy with anyone. Your conversation must flow like a waterfall. That will be enough to create a good first impression.

First impressions can be sooo important on that first day and subsequent ones too. Very important on a job interview and even just going in to fill out an application. That might be the first impression if they remember you and being well dressed could be the memorable thing. Looking nice anyway is just something you owe yourself. You can feel better. Manners are indeed an important thing and even necessary in a relationship. Can get you very far indeed. I think I do agree with you my friend.

Good topic. I think manners are noticed first as well as direct eye contact. Speaking well without being forceful to me is more inportant than the guy who keeps "pushing" to be liked. Being shy is not a deterrant to someone who wants to really learn about someone. Body language has a lot to do with a first impression. The "salesman" grin can be desceptive, but a warm gentle smile will put a person at ease.

Within the first three seconds of a new encounter, you are evaluated...even if it is just a glance. People appraise your visual and behavioral appearance from head to toe. They observe your demeanor, mannerisms, and body language and even assess your grooming and accessories - watch, handbag, briefcase. Within only three seconds, you make an indelible impression. You may intrigue some and disenchant others. The first impression process occurs every new situation Within the first few seconds, people pass judgement on you - looking for common surface clues. Once the first impression is made, it is virtually irreversible. The process works like this: 1. I f you appear to be of comparable business or social level, you are considered suitable for further interaction. 2. If you appear to be of higher business or social status, you are admired and cultivated as a valuable contact. 3. If you appear to be of lower business or social standing, you are tolerated but kept at arm's length. 4. If you are in an interview situation, you can either appear to match the corporate culture or not, ultimately affecting the outcome. You can learn to make a positive and lasting first impression, modify it to suit any situation, and come out a winner. Doing so requires you to assess and identify your personality, physical appearancem lifestyle and goals. Those who do will have the advantage.

I am not good to leave a good impressions to others as a salesman. I don't work like a salesman, because I know I can't do it well. I am good to leave a good impressions to people. If we are just new friends, then I will dress in white in casual. As usually people will leave a good impression to it. Then have a nice smile all the time. Always finding a good topic will be a good behavior, too.

Agree that being polite and friendly establishes a good impression. Also it's important to be sincere, and 'be yourself'. don't try to create a false impression, however good it might appear. cos if you can't sustain it, people will find out and your plan will backfire. for salespeople and interviewees, a good first impression is paramount. dressing well (not over the top but smartly) is important, and carrying yourself in a good posture is also vital. personally, I try to be sincere and truthful when dealing with anyone for the first time. It helps to earn much valued trust and create a lasting impression.

all of us have different situation and different moods inevery moment so if we r in fresh mood then we will have our best behaviour with oyher but if we r in a rough situation then how can we express oursef so polite and loving, but any way if we want to establish a good first impression on otherthen we should have control on our behaviors and expressions and we should use a soft and light way of speaking because our voice is a best way of establishing a good or bad impression
