What do you think of interracial relationships?

My husband and I are mixed races. I am caucasian and he is Puerto Rican. We've never encountered outward hatred, but I know there are some people still out there who disagree with it.

Today it's very much accepted that people of different races will marry. It was only a cultural bias to begin with that it was frowned upon. I truly believe that when races mix the children get the best from both races. I encouraged my children as they were growing up that I would welcome them marrying outside our race. I wanted grandchildren of all hues like flowers in a garden. My daughter's first marriage was to a Mexican American. They had no children and divorced. Out of all my grandchildren, only Megan who has olive skin, tans and browns in the summer. I have to settle for one in ten for some color.

I think that interracial relationships are awesome. I bet that you and your husband have learned about one anothers background. I love being in an interracial relationship I feel that it opens up your eyes to alot of special experiences. =0)
