Hello mylotters, We always need to speak to someone out there who is totally strange to us in our daily lives. That too, if your profession needs that, then there is no option for you. How comfortable are you to speak to a stranger ? Do you feel shy or you speak very easily ?

Thats a true fact. You will really feel shy when you need to talk to someone whom you have really never met before in your life. How have you handled those situations? Can you share that too?

I´m a freelance writer and I work from home, so I really don´t talk to many strangers face to face, just by email. Of course, when I go out to the market or to do my shopping, I have to speak with strangers. This usually doesn´t bother me unless they are one of those people who just doesn´t understand my accent in Spanish. Then I get very embarrassed and usually don´t talk anymore. However, I have had sales jobs in the past, where I had to do cold calls. Those are AWFUL! I am really not a people person and I get quite flustered when I have to try and tell someone why they should buy what I have to offer when really they have 0 interest in the product!

I speak easily to strangers, probably too easily! I think I got that from my father, my mom always said he never met a stranger. I always remember tons of instances when we would be standing in line somewhere or waiting to have a service completed, and my dad would always find someone to talk to. When I was little I thought he was friends with the whole world. Now, as I have gotten older, I have begun to realize I am much the same way. I'm kind of cute so I always get a lot of attention, but I'm also fairly intelligent, so people are usually pleasantly surprised when I start talking to them and can hold a conversation. I like meeting new people, so I guess I've found my way to the never met a stranger arena too.

I don't really feel strange talking with a stranger. I have worked with the public forever, so I guess it comes easy for me, plus I'm an out going person. I have people in the grocery store start up a conversation with me. I can be minding my business and they come up to me. I do however love people. So I guess it is easy for me.

No Senthil. I dont feel shy when talking with others or strangers. I am a software employee. My that type of feeling lead to me to meet my husband. He too is like that only.I feel comfortable whoever be the other person I am talking, but I always remember my limits and follow that.

I am normally a shy person, but not to strangers. In the back of my mind I'm thinking, I'll never see this person again. If the person looks friendly enough, I will speak to them. People have a way of pushing you a way. Most times I know that people are in deep thought, or are upset about something. Normally, they may not mind you approaching them to ask a question. If I see something funny and the strangers laughs also, we will both cut jokes with each other. I've found that is the best type of stranger. Someone who does not mind sharing a laugh with you.

I am 26 now and I have always been shy. When I was in school It was my teachers goals to get me to talk before the end of the school year. I slowly came out of it as I got older but as far as strangers go I still feel shy around them. I don't generally start conversations for that reason. I don't talk to people, people talk to me.
