It was reported on Friday that Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington's contract has not been picked up for the next season. The article goes on to state that his on-screen departure remains to be seen, however with the way the season ended, it should be fairly easy for them to not bring the character back. It would seem like his off screen comments cost him in the long run. It's a shame because I really enjoyed Dr. Burke. He was turning into a good friend for Derek and was great for Christina. It will be interesting to see how they handle Sandra Oh's character now that she will be on her own. She did a fantastic job with her reaction to Burke's leaving at the end of the season. It will definitely be a different show next season without Isaiah and with Kate Walsh being on the spin-off show.

I think it will be a loss to the show. He did what they wanted to make amends for the careless remark he made.It is a shame to write him off the show.

yeah, this has been in all of the newspapers and online news stories for the last couple days. I don't understand why they are letting him go...it appears he is wanting to return. It is definite most of the show's fans definitely want him back. It will change the show, but that is true anytime a major character leaves. But somehow, the really great shows make the most of it and they usually become even better.
