Daycare in America

What do you think of the state of daycare services in America? I've wrote a blog post on it here, http://wiredfornoise.blogspot.com/2007/06/we-need-better-daycare.html, and was wondering how you all feel about it. Do you think there needs to be more funds for mothers to have reliable daycare? What should be done for mothers who cannot afford not to work but cannot afford to put their children in daycare? What are your thoughts on this?
