In light of certain discussions that have gone on here recently I had to start this thread.....Have you ever noticed that crazy ppl really dont realize they are crazy? Its said that a true crazy person DOESNT know they're nuts and I've seen that in action....Especially in here lately LOL..... Do you have any true crazy ppl in your city/town? Ever wonder what functioning in society must be like for them??

LOL, GREAT POST!!! Yes, I do wonder what life is like for them, especially those that get on the net. I always see a picture of family members so fed up with having to listen to them, that they all pitch in together and buy them a puter and a net provider, just to keep them occupied so they don't have to hear them. As for real life, we have a guy who would walks up and down the sidewalk all day preaching at the top of his lungs. Of course this doesn’t sound crazy, but when you toss in the fact he was naked from time to time, then well.…. I can't imagine what he thinks or how life is for him through his eyes. All I know is God didn't make him in clothes and he shouldn't have to wear them, LOL.

you're so lucky you can afford a PI. this is the first time I heard someone here does that. I'm curious about the result, is it really mylot members or just regular prank calls. anyway, wish you luck.

Where is that said? I dont really think it is very nice to refer to a mentally disturbed person as crazy. It is very mean. Your whole post is mean. To ask people how functioning in society must be like? If you really want the answer why dont you try doing some community service. They have missions where I live where they can go and eat. It is a real eye opener to volunteer there. I dont think the families of these disturbed people would like it knowing there are ignorant people out there calling them crazy and nuts. This is not nice. I have not read all your responses but I can see there are people responding to this discussion and cant understand why more people are not saying this is not nice.

Why does the fact that I've lived a very UNsheltered life bother you so much? Just because you've not experienced much doesnt mean the rest of the world hasnt..

"Why does the fact that I've lived a very UNsheltered life bother you so much? Just because you've not experienced much doesnt mean the rest of the world hasnt.. " Where did this come from? Where did I say I thought you lived an unsheltered life? Not only do I not think you lived an unsheltered life I wont even put here the kind of life I think you have lived and are living. Anyone that reads your posts can determine that for themselves. I dont know you and you dont know me. I dont get why you say I havent experienced much , How would you know.? I dont understand why you are getting so defensive about my comment. I simply pointed out how not very nice it is to name call

Well I myself and very normal. The voices in my head tell me this daily. They also tell me to run around the streets naked covered in ketchup yelling the British are coming!!!! But we all know everyone does that right/? I think crazy people would not know or understand they are crazy like people who have never worn glasses that needs them Dont realize the world is more clearer until they get the glasses. does that make sense?

Not everyone understands or appreciates my strange sense of humor lol Glad you do. The way i see it. when someone grows up knowing only one thing they think its normal. So the cure for people who cant see are glasses. the cure for crazy people are psychiatrists.

I swear, today I was surrounded by crazy people. Not just the run of the mill crazies .. but people who are usually normal but are feeling the need to flip out for no reason. You are right ... crazy people never really realize that they are indeed crazy.

Yes, I have noticed recently that there seems to be some people online who possibly have been released from the insane assylum within the last month. I wonder if the institution has noticed that they are missing. We know where they are. They are here. You are so right. They do not realize that they are crazy. At times, they are scary. I try to avoid them. I walk on the other side of the discussion (sidewalk) to avoid them. I duck into other discussions to avoid them. They could be dangerous. Are crazy people supposed to be allowed computer usage time???

that's the thing about the internet. anyone can login with any user name and password and join any forum available for them. who they really are, we can never tell. I really hope no mental patients escape and join mylot, but as you said, crazy is what crazy does.

I actually knew quite a few people like this in my home town. They were really a trip to watch. This one in particular use to have macaroni and cheese fights with herself, she would open all the windows in her apartment so the birds and squirrels would come in and talk to her. At one point she asked my ex while we were still together if she could come up and take a shower and she could be his soap. She would wash her clothes in the dishwasher and mircowave them to be dried. Oh I could go on all day about her, I know it isn't nice to laugh at people that are "crazy" but I couldn't help myself.

This discussion brought back memories. The town I grew up near had a homeless guy that everyone called Crazy Tony. I always heard stories from people about how Tony would chase after them for no reason. One day I was walking to meet a friend when Tony came walking down the street from the opposite direction. I was a little worried about what Tony might do to me. As we passed one another I said hello. Tony said hello back to me and ask how I was doing. After taking a moment to speak with Tony i found out that the stories people told about Tony wasn't all true. Yes, he would chase after people but it was because they threw things at him. He was discharged from the Army because of an injury he had gotten. He wasn't really homeless but he didn't have a lot of money to waste. For him society was hard to deal with because of how many judgemental people there are in this world.

LOL yea I've noticed that too, a bunch of them seem to drift into my discussions from time to time. I think for everyone's sake they should have a tag next to their name stating that they are nuts and to ignore anything that they say or do because they can't help it.

Yes, Ravenladyj, I know you are talking about me! *giggles* I'm pretty crazy, or at least I am told so. I do have actual mental problems, but I know a lot of people I would say are crazier than me. The worst crazy I can think of offhand that I interact with on a normal basis is someone I know from work. She's completely nuts. No matter what anyone says, she assumes they're talking about her. She freaks out if anyone around her laughs, and rants about anything and everything at the top of her lungs, scaring the other customers. I see her walking sometimes, and she intentionally walks in front of cars. She says "If they hit me, it's their problem!"

"I see her walking sometimes, and she intentionally walks in front of cars. She says "If they hit me, it's their problem!"" are you serious?! thats just ASKING for trouble ya know...cause really it WOULDNT BE their problem it'd be hers.. LOL yea I've been told by many including my shrink that I'm off my rocker and out of my tree and like you I KNOW I have mental disorders but man there really are some seriously demented ppl out there...

Yeah, I'm always tempted to tell her it would be her problem, but it's easier just to smile and nod! =p I think that having the occasionally encounter with a real crazy person makes me feel better about my own mental stability. I know I have problems, but I also know exactly where they came from, and most of the time, how to deal with them. =)

I think being crazy is real cool. You are in your world and despite what others think, you truly live in your own world and you are having fun. You rock! Of course they are some who got crazy the "wrong" way and they are trapped in perpetual terror - that would not be fun. Ever heard of that story that if you, a certified normal person, is put into the mental hospital, those there will single you out soon that you are not crazy? I don't know how true this is - perhaps it is the "it takes one to know another" at work. I have actually met some nurses from the mental hospital and they assured me that those supposedly crazy people are actually very normal. I choose to believe them though you cannot be sure if they were actually crazy themselves, or that they have simply gotten so used to those really crazy people that they think them normal. Good day! ;-)

"From my personal experience battling depression, I can tell you that it is very unnerving to have a flareup of anxiety while out in public. " yea it is..and whats worse IMO is having a full blown attack in your own home and cant leave the bedroom let alone the house... Maybe thats why I do react the way I do it, I'm certifiable, medicated and no stranger to the mental health system back home..If I wasnt on my meds right now I'd be worse than I was before I went on them (the reason I say worse is because I was steadily getting worse which is why I got into the doc when I did) "Some of the most heartbreaking moments there happened while I was working with some of the younger adult schizophrenics" I can just imagine...and though I've visited psych wards I can only think that at least they are in care of some kind (sometimes good, sometimes not so good depending on where one lives)....but the kids on the streets, thats a brutal thing to see..It was one thing for me to be homeless..i could function back then extremely well and I'm a strong being but to see some of them (regardless of age but the younger ones are the hardest to see) trying to manage day in and day out like that when they dont live in reality and their mental disorders have fully taken over...its harsh to see.....

well other people are just pretending to be crazy cause they want and they need more attention, there's always a reason for everything, or everything has a purpose... there doing it out of something they some hidden agenda's or intentions.... like us or thru kids what your showing to them, that your teaching or something??? since kids are very good imitators is what you gonna deal with later on with your life, like what you plant is what your gonna harvest, if its well taking cared off, it will difinetely come out great and magnifecint nothing to deal with any emotional problems...so take good care with everyone close to your heart so later on in the future they will be worth what you want them for, give then chance and hopes in life, thats the best gift you could always give to anyone else, great & amazing personalities....
