I am working overseas and after few months i am returning back home. I wish i could easily find a job there, to settle down. What do you think the status of job hunting nowadays in PHilippines? Is it easy to find a good job there?

I'd say your position overseas is already okay. Don't dare to get a job here. Its no longer easy to find a job here. And if yo do, the compensation is not worth for your effort. Every year newly graduates who are unemplyed continuously increased. Companies are wiser this time. They get thier employees from agencies. The agency will give you a contract of five months and afterwards they lay yo off.

Yes, I understand that the compensation in our country has big difference while working overseas and that's the major problem of filipinos working abroad once they want to return home. As for me, I just want to try working again in our own country so i can attend my mom and my kid. Working abroad is a tough decision for me as i will miss the chance of keeping an eye for my son as he grows older. I am not looking for a salary in able for me to get rich, a salary enough for my living and at least can afford for my son's education is enough.

what course have you finished? what kind of job did you have abroad? how long have you worked abroad? how old are you? still single or married? one of the problems we have in our country is the mismatch or what we call underemployment. you may be able to look for a job here but it may not be connected/related to the course that you have finished. another problem here is discrimination. in case you haven't noticed, more and more jobs in the philippines prefer those within the age bracket of 22-28 and are single. thus, no matter how good you may be at the job offered, you might not be considered for the job (sad but true). you could try applying at call centers. but it really is a very demanding job. but my friend, if you could stay abroad then do so.. but if you really want to come home and work here, i would suggest that you rather put up your own business. SMEs in the philippines are doing well at present. besides, for the longest time, it has been our economy's backbone. well my friend, whatever you decide on, i wish you luck..

Actually i just work abroad for two years, savings is not that big to put up a good business, i tried but it was sad experience that i've been a victim of corruption =( . Applying in a call center is far from my mind, although the package is attractive as what i saw in the net, i doesn't feel working that kind of job. For the age bracket, that's true and sad reality that i am thinking now, because i had exceeded on the age bracket you had mentioned. Anyway, thank you for sharing this update to me.

it is easy to find a work nowadays especially if your a skilled worker... if your know another language then its better, coz lots of call centers needs agent for another languages... i you got what it takes to be one of the agent then, welcome back!!! you can work as one you just have to choose your company your be applying in... anyway if not into call center agent... there's still lots of job available...and you can choose according to your skills... ;)
