How does 'My Best Responses' affect what you earn on MyLot?

Are 'My Best Responses' the result of rating? How do they benefit you?

You can rate responses AND you can select one of them as "best response". Anyway, I'm not sure whether having "best responses" does help your income at mylot or not. I don't have any best responses, and if I had, I don't know if I could tell for real if they have affected my earnings...
