I can't even start to explain how many problems and barriers I am experiencing of late. I set my d-day 3 weeks ago, the first 2 weeks were not so bad but all of a sudden it has got worse and the struggle continues. I have never craved for something so strong in all my life, I have tried many stop smoking remedies and nicotine replacement treatments which include: * Patches * Gum * Inhalers * Lozenges I have also tried a number of other things to help take my mind off it including mints, sweets, fruit and carrot sticks. My usual 30 a day was reduced to nothing in the first 2 weeks but now I crave again and have strated having one or two a day. I wish I had the will power to stop completely. How did you manage to stop???

There is supposed to be some therepy out their now that can actually stop the physical side effects of smoking, where you don't actually get the cravings, then you just have to deal with the mental loss of quitting smoking, maybe you should talk to a doctor.

Thank you also for a quick response, I have talked to my doctor and he has only recomended the NRT's. He doesn't seem to have much more time for this kind of case. I ought to change GP's I think :(

I never started smoking but a family member of mine did and then they quit using hipnosis (sp?). They haven't smoked in three years.

Thank you for a quick response, I have thought of hypnosis but for some reason I am afraid of it. I don't take kindly to losing control or not having any control of myself.
