Stars with different colors

I just discovered and noticed something every time i respond to a discussion or when i click on my discussions i had started. There's a star before our mylot name. Plus, i noticed that there are different colors - blue,red, orange or pink.
What does it mean? What does it manifests?

These different star colors are associated with different ratings as established by the rating system....each discussion has 3 buttons on the far right of the last line of the discussions....it is important that you rate discussions and comments that are made on the discussions that you read and respond to....
You can also put your mouse over the star and it will show you a number over 100.....hese stars are awarded to a new member after thet have reached their 100th post....
