When you get your paycheck and your salary do you get to save anything?

Well for me Im still in the entry level as a teacher for Koreans my salary is above average but because of the current state of the Philippine economy my salary is not enough to maintain my old life style. I support my siblings in their studies and also my girl since her mother and her family neglects her needs completely. When pay day comes everything is already accounted for and the money Im left with is just enough fare to bring me to and from the office for the next pay day. The money left sometimes are just a few coins and I keep them in my piggy bank...a very light piggy bank hahah Its a monotinous existence now with out the release of Mylot I might get crazy:)

why not changing your old lifestyle. i did, and got a few savings because of that.. no more gimmicks, no more hard parties and no more senseless shopping! i think its also helps to track your expenses and have a bank savings account..

To clear things out what I meant for my old lifestyle is that I once provided them more that what I can do now...

I used to do that before when I was working with my previous company. My savings will depend on the total earnings I've made. It's really hard to prepare a budget. I receive above minimum wage that time but not that much to cover all the expenses we have to pay. What I do is to render alot of overtime, I earn more from that. It would add up to my budget and it helped me alot. I pay all of our utility bills, nobody help me with it. Sigh.. I'm single but I shoulder all the responsibilities. Usually I can save up to 500 pesos every pay day. Because of this, I don't have problem with my allowance or during emergency cases. Now I've started up a "sari-sari" store in our place while looking for a new job. It's really hard when you don't have a job, no earnings at all. Better save some money for your future needs. Nice meeting you!

I'm sure if you can save that much, it would help in the near future. Good thing we can find online income opportunities like MyLot. It helps us to earn some extra money. We only have to work for it.

Believe me if I had an extra 500 I wouldnt be having problems but hey if I do my work well and If there are no problems in the future I guess I can survive this trial in my life My lot is atleast paying me every day thats good enough for me and could really help in the long run. Its good we have internet connection at work and we can surf if we have no students calling :)

Yes! everytime I got my salary I make sure I save even a little. Well, It is easy for me to save since I am single and I am not contributing anything in the household expenses. There were times were I was still supported by my parents when it comes to financial aspect. I can say that I am not that stable yet and I still have long way to go.

Wow mae I envy you, I wish I can be as free as you are. But alas that is the fate of my life being the first born and the only one who can work for now. BUt I hope that one day my siblings will find good jobs too when they reach college so that I can finish my schooling too. But that is still 5 years from now. Dont worry about being stable its just one step at a time :)

Now that it is just my husband working, we try to put a little away every pay. Now we have managed to save enough for our vacation to Orlando Florida in August. It varies with the amount we do put away, and when we get back we are looking at moving to a cheaper apartment to rent, as the one we are in now, even though it is nice and has very nice amenities, I think we are wasting way too much on rent. It will all depend though if our landlord will let us go as we originally signed up for a two years, and it only has been one year. Fingers crossed something gets worked out between both parties :)

Yup been very good tenants from the start. I just think we can seriously save 300 at least from our rent, but we shall see, have a nice day!

I hope so too ma'm, take care on your trip to orlando...I think if your land lord considers it, its hard to uproot a tenant that you are already used to I mean the relationship that you have with him or her and the familiarity thats hard to comeby and Im sure you are model tenants that even harder to find now a days right?

First of all, I have to say you are a very good and responsible father:) I will try to save for the future. As nobody will know what will happen tomorrow. My son is 3 years old today, and I've saved for his future education. I become very economic but I am glad to it. As I have a big ambition:)

Thank You Iam flattered but actually they are just my siblings but I am like a father to them and like a husband already to my girl. I can say that ambition is the first step in becoming a good parent atleast you have the drive to strive more for you child. Say happy Birthday for me...:)

Well when it comes to savings my formula of salary is: Salary = salary received for the month - targeted investments or planned investments that's my salary because every person has a habit of spending more when u earn more you spend more this is proven practice e.g., if you are earning 8000 buks and you were spending 5000 buks every month and when your salary increases from 8 to 10 your expenses also in increases to 8000 that means your increment in salary is just 2000 but your increment in expenses is more than that

Oh how nice of you to spend for everyone you love. I do have an above average income too, and like you I feel like what I make is not enough. I'm not luxurious, infact I'm cheap. I don't want be left with zero, because I would not enjoy working if I don't enjoy the money I make. I do keep a little bit every payroll plus I keep my 5 and 10 peso coins too.

well being a single mom and the only one supporting my baby, its really hard to save. like you my salary is already counted for. although i sometimes get so save a little, there are always unexpected expenses. like a week ago when my baby got sick, i had to withdraw my saving for his medicines. im actually thinking of finding a part time job to save a little more for my baby's future.

Indeed the unexpected ones hit me the most too, especially when you have carefully mapped out the expenses for the month then suddenly this new expense comes in that will throw the whole balance off the scale. But some how I do get to let the ends meet.
