How Many Times Do You Have To Vacume Your Carpet A Day???

I have the prettiest hunter green carpet in my living room. It is only 4 years old the previous tenants put it in right before moving out, and I HATE IT!!!
It is a magnet for every partical of dirt anywhere in the house. I think that dirt just wonders itself down from upstairs all by itself to be on this carpet. If i didnt know better i would even think that the neighbors dirt comes over to party on it. LOL
I have thought several times about changing it but it is a very large room and the cost would be very high. Plus it also runs up the stairs so it would have to go too. I growl under my breath everytime i run the vacume at the woman who picked out the carpet to be put in here.(I know her to by the way we are friends LOL)
Anyway i end up vacuming anywhere from 2 to 6 times a day. It depends on the traffic running through the house. I have 3 children ages 6,4,and 2 and 2 dogs so there is usualy always alot of traffic. There could be nothing at all out of place in the living room and if the carpet needs swept the entire room looks messy, thats why i vacume so much.
So how often do you vacume your living space?

Wow, you do vacuum a bunch. I only vacuum about every 3 days. But, when we got our new carpet I got a darker color, we had a light tan before and it stained so much. Now we have a medium brown color that has other shades of brown mixed in. So, it doesn't show dirt as easily and stains don't show up as much. Sometimes, like when my grandchildren visit, I do have to vacuum everyday. I think mine depends on how many people have been here.

I used to have a light carpet too where we used to live and i hated it too becasue it showed every little stain. The rest of the down stairs that is carpeted has the different shaded brown carpeting so i dont have to vacume that as much as the hunter green carpet. Thank you for your responce

I think once a day is must routine otherwise the carpet will be full of dust and the germs which at least i wont allow to do so once a day at least is required to do the cleaning.

Wow, I vacuum so many times a day, I think I might have lost count….lol…I have three kids and I am always vacuuming after their messes! I have to constant have the vacuum plugged in and ready to go!
I was so luck to purchase a Hoover vacuum from my land lord when she held a rummage sale a few months back. Since then the vacuum has become the best invention I have ever came across…lol…it is really helpful especially, because I am so busy most of the day. I do use the broom to clean but only if I have time to but to get to places like behind and under the couch covers, I use the vacuum!
At times I often wonder how they do it! They manage to make messes every time I turn around! There is always crumbs on the floor, bits of straphang from stuffed toys, tissue pieces from their arts and crafts, bits of crayon sharpening, little bits of dirt from when they come from outside, pieces of flowers when they touch the décor around the living room and just pieces of everything they come in contact with!...lol…
I would say that I vacuum my home no less than 7 times a day! I know that is a lot of times to vacuum in a day, but I guess that’s just how it is when you have little ones running around the home.

This is exactly the way it is here. Luckily for me my mother in law got me a new sweeper for christmas the year that i moved into this house. And it is even better that it is a bagless one i could only imagine how many times i would be changing bags and buying more LOL. At least I know i am not the only one with this delema LOL. Happy Sweeping :-P

If i only do it once a day then it looks aweful and my 2 year old son picks things up and puts it in his mouth. Or if he is eating and drops something he will pick it back up and eat it i dont always get to him before it goes back in his mouth. But ya i have to vacum that much because the carpet is so dark you can see every little crumb or peice of dirt and lint on it. Thanks for your responce
