What's your dry cleaning horror story?

A few weeks ago, my niece brought her expensive leather shoulder bag to the dry cleaners to have it cleaned. On the day she was supposed to pick it up, she noticed there was a large stain on it. She complained to the woman at the counter and they denied that they were responsible for it. My niece was so upset because that was her favorite bag so she let her husband talk with the woman. She was told to come back the next day. The next day, they tried to tell her that she had signed a piece of paper that authorized them to use water to clean the leather bag. My niece denied this saying that when she signed the paper, that particular procedure was not written there. It was obvious that they just inserted this so they would not be blamed for the damage that their wet-cleaning has done to her bag. My niece asked for the manager or owner and after a long discussion, the man finally accepted their mistake and offered to pay for the depreciated value of the bag. I don't know about you guys, but I can't believe that they tried to cover up their mistake and throw the blame by manipulating and tampering with that waiver that my niece had signed. Do you know of any dry cleaning horror stories?
