Read a story today that had me laughing. Seattle is considering placing a ban on microwave popcorn. I personally never really considered microwave popcorn that hard to make but apparently it has become an issue at the Seattle City Hall. http://www.king5.com/topstories/stories/NW_061307WABmicrowavepopcornbanTP.43bf29d9.html Have you ever found it difficult to pop a bag of microwave popcorn? How do you feel about a ban?

That was my good laugh of the day. I just can't believe what I've red. It's not hard to makie popcorn. I think I only burn it 2-3 times in my life. Now most of the microwave have a popcorn button. People in Seatle are more stupid then other place? Idon't think they are really gonna ban it.

I lived in Tacoma for about a year. I never thought that anyone around there wasn't smart or anything. I think its a matter of no one paying attention.

I didn't take offense to the comment. I was just explaining. The people I met in Washington state are some of the nicest people I have ever met is all I was trying to say.

LOL oh that is too funny!! Maybe they should invest in a good microwave where all you have to do is press the "popcorn" button. That's what our microwave has and the popcorn turns out perfect everytime.

Our microwave has the same feature but since it is nine years old it doesn't work correctly anymore. Thanks

I don't like the stuff, I prefer to pop my own in a cast iron pot, but banning it is silly... some people eat popcorn as a dietary food... it does wonders for in this area, providing fiber and satisfaction in the form of a quick cook snack... but... It's the klutzes that keep burning it that are the problem... I have forbidden one of my clients from using it in her microwave, because she's what I call "pyro prone" octagenarian, who on a good day, can burn food even without an obvious source of flame nearby (?)! Maybe, the makers of this product should come and give proper lessons to their users... it can happen, as more and more companies seek to keep their products from being embarrassed by such a public proposal... I remember that there was a proposition to ban a certain "lemon freshened" dishwashing detergent because some of the consumers kept mistaking it for a soft drink mix, because they had images of lemons on the lable... go figure! LOL! :) Expert Village for you: http://www.expertvillage.com and Tube Zoom free movies: http://www.tubezoom.com have an excellent day! :)

I must admit this one had me laughing....I don't think that the Mayor not eating popcorn was really an issue either...LOL I have had difficulty once with microwave popcorn...my son had turned it from cook to defrost...it really does not cook like that...LOL Other than this one experience...I have been able to stand there long enough to listen for the spacing between pops to get farther apart and then stopped it...LMAO I really do not see this as a major task...apparently the workers in Seattle are not able to stand there long enought to figure it out.....not all of them....just the ones that work for the city..... Funny, my friend.....oh, yes, still laughing!!! HAHA

I saw this article an I just had to share it. I read it first to my brother to see if someone else found it as funny as I did. Then I knew I wanted to share it with everyone else. That would be one place that I know I couldn't work because I will sometimes eat popcorn for lunch.

It can be hard to get just right since microwave ovens and cooking times vary but a ban on somethign like popcorn is ridiculous unless it is poseing a health risk.

I figure a bag of popcorn takes maybe three minutes to pop at most. I normally will do something close by so that I can listen to it as it pops when it slows down popping then I open the microwave. No one has to smell burned popcorn and you don't have to worry about someone thinking its a fire.
