Redundancy?

I was made redundant on the 12/6/2007! I was gutted i went into work as usual only to be called in to the office and told tthere was not enough work to warrant my employment. It is a small business with mainly their family as employers. The mum is the director, the dad is a consultant, one daughter is a manager another daughter a mortgage administrator (which is what i was). Have any of you ever been through this.

I was made redundant about 10years ago but it was different for me as I worked for the main telephone company and I had been working for them for a few years so they had to give me and the others a payout and I honestly think it was the best thing for every one of us that had to go but then I guess that depends on your age and circumstances, it can be devastating for some people....

Thank you for your comment, i understand where you are coming from, if i had been there long enough to get some compensation to keep me going it would not be such a worry. But i have a home to run and a future housebuild and wedding (both of which are in motion)so i am concerned that we have some very difficult times ahead.

Just think positive I firmly believe everything happens for a reason and maybe the reason this has happened to you because there is something better for you ahead, your journey of life may take you in a completely different direction but positive thinking is good....Good luck my friend.
