Muesli Story

Is the story about muesli true. it goes something like this, many many moons ago, a mountain climber fell down the mountain and the friends took him home to his wife to die. Since this is before the existence of doctors and hospital, thats all they can do for him. his wife keep him alive by feeding him fruits slices that she place between his lips to suck on. after another set of many moons, the guy was cured and started climbing things again. i mean mountain. this is suppose to be the invention of muesli. is this true or just stories placed on the site of the muesli box to sucker us into believing the muesli hype.

I learned way back when as a kid that a Swiss doctor and dietician invented the muesli as a therapy among many other recipes. His name was Bircher-Benner and German Wikipedia has an article on him. Here is the link: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilian_Oskar_Bircher-Benner
