This summer on ATWT, some relationships heat up while
others explode! To find out who'll get burned, we got
the scoop from headwriter Jean Passanante.
Is Cleo A Threat?
Gwen and Will took pity on poor Cleo, but are they
asking for trouble by keeping her around? "They don't
know quite what to make of Cleo, really," Passanante
muses. "There are as many positive things about her as
crazy things. And maybe she won't be so nutty if they
can keep an eye on her." But is Cleo's obsession with
Will growing out of control?
Aaron's Back!
Focused on a common goal - saving Alison - Emily and
Dusty grow closer. "Their relationship is certainly
developing," Passanante says. "But Alison continues to
stir things up." It seems as if Ali has designs on
Dusty, too! "Alison's in need of a savior at this
particular moment," she teases, "but then things
quickly become more complicated than that." Especially
when her ex, Aaron, walks back into her life!
Can Carly Repair Her Family?
"Carly's concern at this point is to try to get her
children to accept her [being] back," explains
Passanante. "She hasn't made any kind of a romantic
pitch toward Jack at this point. She's got a much
bigger task than that. So it's an explosive situation
and one that will determine the extent to which Carly
and Jack are able to come together and take care of
their children."
Will Meg Marry Craig?
Is Meg actually willing to become Mrs. Craig
Montgomery? "He's kind of railroaded her into it a
little bit, as only Craig can do," the writer
chuckles. But is Craig working his own angle? "He is
sincere when he says his desire to marry Meg is a
desire to reclaim a life that he realizes he's trashed
in a lot of ways." But will Meg let him do it?
Luke's New Love?
Working at WOAK with Noah and Maddie, Luke is in an
awkward position. "What you're seeing at this point is
the beginning of a bond between Noah and Maddie,"
Passanante previews. "And what Luke is feeling is left
out." But she promises that this is only the beginning
of the story: "It's just the tip of the iceberg!"
Hot Star of Summer: Jennifer Landon (Gwen/Cleo)
Double Trouble
Although Cleo has done nothing but create problems for
them, Gwen and Will have taken her under their wing,
and it looks like things may be perking up as Gwen is
once again inspired to pursue her music career.
Jennifer Landon, who plays the dual role, previews:
"Cleo has kind of come up with this plan to get Gwen
to sing again." But does that mean that the odd little
girl form Turlock, CA, isn't out to cause trouble
anymore? "Oh, Cleo is trouble," the actress promises.
"She's big trouble. She's going to be huge trouble.
But she does everything out of love. That's why she's
so great. And that's why she's going to be huge
trouble." Cleo may have started off wishing she could
be just like her double, but now it seems like she'd
be willing to setting for just having Will all to
herself, and reigniting Gwen's music career could be
the first step toward making that happen. "She doesn't
see it as 'Oh, I'm just going to get rid of Gwen,'"
Landon reveals. "She's thinking, 'This is literally
Gwen's path, and she needs to be a star. That's her
path. And that's not Will's path. And my path aligns
with his. We make sense. We both want the same
thing.'" And when Cleo discovers how wrong she is,
it's not going to be pretty!
