Are they "your" children?

Do you consider your stepchildren your children? (Applies to those who've been in a marriage for a good amount of time and have had a good amount of time with your stepchildren.) I believe moms by marriage and dads by marriage can bond just as much as if the children were theirs. (I prefer the terms "moms by marriage" and "dads by marriage" because stepparent has such bad connotations in today's society.) When people ask how many children I have, I always say, "Seven. Four grew under my heart, and three grew in it." Tell me about your feelings on this...

Yes. I also treat my husband's children from his first wife as my own. I love my husband and I love the people he loves. I have no problem with it. When I met my husband, he had them already and I have grown fond of them through time. I love them so much and they treat me with respect. And since my husband and I have no children yet, I treat them as my own and they call me their second mother....
