how do you increase internet connection speed?

i have a PC and a broadband connection at home. even if the connection speed is 100MBPS, we feel that its not that fast when we connect to the internet. dO you think the problem is in the computer itself and not in the internet connection? How can we fixed it? I will appreciate your ideas and your suggestions.
