I knew he'd be back and how they'd figure him back into the story, but it's the history of how he became to be here that interests me!!! especially after the 1996 3 million $ tv movie! how did he survive after that! I wonder, We can only speculate if we don't know the whole story!!!

Oh yeah I cannot wait as I am a long time dr who fan who simply revels in this stuff of fantasy!!! John sim is a great choice as the master as he is a great actor of recent times, what with life on mars!

I'm sure it will continue for many years to come if they keep the stories fresh and exciting!!!

Me too from being a child, I remember waiting in anticipation for the new Dr to start with Eccleston. It was well worth the wait. I only hope that the Dr will continue for years to come and never end

In Whoville, the town where all Who's live (including little Cindy Lou Who), there apparently must reside a doctor of some sort, or you wouldn't keep bringing it up...

I thought this was the best episode of the current series. I am quite new to Doctor Who and have been a fan for about 3 years or so, give or take a couple of months, I think when Cristopher Eccleston stared in it, im 17band think this episode was the best, and so far have been dissappointed with the series. Ive watched many Old episode, and think it was cool to bring back the master, and using John Simm from ife on Mars as the Master, and when I recognised the wathc he had (before he opened it and was human), i had a funny feeling he was a time lord, and was the master, but couldnt rember his name. Ohterwise the episode was the best so far. and the return of Captain Jack was awesome too.. How long is he going to be in it?

As far as I know captain jack will be in it till the end of this series, so 2 more to go and then he is relegated to torchwood again!

No it has been recommissioned for another series, but there is some question of doubt as to whether david tennant will stay after the 4th series, but seeing as he wanted to be in this role since being a child I reckon after series 5 should do. Thee bbc is investing large quantities of cash diverted from some canadian company which is funding the recent series of doctor who so I reckon they'd be quite foolish to not carry the series on for a good amount of time, especially as it is being shown in america now and other countries around the world.

Cool, i think he is a good character in Doc Who. I was wondering, I heared that Doctor Who is finishing for eva after this series. I was think this cant be true, as I remember one of the earlier incarnations of the Doctor saying that there would be 12 transformation then, thats it! do u know anything.

Don't spoil it honey - we are watching it tomorrow! Niamh (5) gets so upset if people ruin Dr Who for her - she has been a massive fan since it came back with Christopher Eccleston! xxxx

I do apologize as I cannot contain my enthusiasm for this show that I hope to write for someday soon!! I just knew that there would be the master hanging around as the tv movie just had the master stuck in limbo years ago!!

when indeed you do write for the show perhaps you can wangle a visit for Niamh! lol She has a photo of David Tenant at a wedding with my nephew and it is one of her most prized possessions! I do have to educate her however as she saw a Dr Dho with Tom Baker recently and refused to believe it was Dr Who! Times have changed indeed! lol xxxx

I myself grew up in the peter davison and colin baker era, so I know full well of the denial that is involved with the show!!

Hmmm, i'm a bit confused - the master being back? I haven't really watched dr who before the bbc resurrected it recently. I did see a tv special on Dr who a good few years ago, like a special 2 hour type thing. I can't remember it very well - it was very good though. So what's the story on this master - i really hope they explain it in the next episode. It was a very good episode and it was good having Captain Jack back in it - he's much better in dr who than torchwood, much more fun! Though the Dr wasn't very nice to him really which seemed a bit odd. Anyway i can't wait til saturday for the next episode, wander how they can sort this mess out!!!

The master is an old enemy of the doctor, he apparently is the only other time lord left just like the doctor now after the time war! Although if memory serves me the master had all but used up his 13 lives in previous stories, unless there is an explanation for this we'll just have to wait and see! I would like to know how the master came to be without any tardis(although I think he had no tardis, as it was destroyed long ago!!), I can imagine he hid because of the time war, but just waiting to see the real story!

I can't wait for the next installment. But I must say I have never heard of the master before. I hope it explains the history for those of us that have no idea!

In the series there was a limit of twelve regenerations. And one was supposed to be the "evil Doctor" from the Trial of the Time Lord. Although, they may have done something in that episode to eliminate that regeneration. That whole episode was about the evil doctor trying to win the right to all further regenerations. I hope the movie doesn't count in the total of twelve. Possibly in the new series they have changed that rule, I kinda hope so because at the current rate the series will be over for good soon. I'm looking forward to being able to watch the Torchwood spin off when it comes out in the states.

I get the feeling that the whole movie story arch has been ignored for the most part in the new series. I would like it if they gave more info on the whole time-wars thing that keeps being mentioned but never explained. I suppose it's partly an attempt to explain the long absence of the series.

I agree with that whole statement I have also noticed things that was mentioned in that movie, that does not apply now (i.e. 13 lives said in movie, keep regenerating in the series (and I believe in The Five Doctors (classic), that "remaining regenerations" was mentioned)) One of those things, aint it.
