My fiance just left earlier tonight to go hang out at his dads house. I decided while he was gone this would be the perfect chance for me to run out and get him something for father's day (last minute shopper..i know!). Well he was the last one to drive my car and put the parking brake on. I loaded my daughter in the car and got in to go shopping. Well I can't even begin to budge that stupid parking brake. He got it up there so tight I can't get it to budge! Why do guys do this? The parking brake will hold just fine without pulling it up so tight. I had to get onto him about this just earlier this week. Looks like I'm going to have to give him a lesson on parking brakes for girls lol. So now I can't go get his father's day present until in the morning and that's REALLY last minute. I just wish he would remember that he lives with a rather petite girl and not to do things like that. I'm strong but not that strong!

I don't drive myself but my Mum has loaned her car to her friend John on occasions and he puts on the thing so tight that she has to ask a man to get it back off it and she is strong. I think it is something that proves to men their masculinity and I think in a strange way it gives them power. There is really no need for it and I bet when you say to him he shrugs his shoulders as though it is no big deal. Blooming men!

I know how you feel. My husband has done this to me a few times. Last time he did it, I had to get him out of bed at 7:15am in the middle of winter to release it for me (even though he was mad he was up in the freezing cold, he thought it was funny I couldn't release it). I don't even know why he sets it at all. There really is no reason to.

My husband is the same way! When I had my Cavalier he would do that sometimes. I would have to use both hands and be sitting on my knees trying to get that stupid thing off! He does the same thing with lids to bottles and jars and stuff, too. I swear, sometimes it is easier to get a jar open the first time than after he closes it! Luckily we have the foot pedals for the parking brake in the car we have now. And since it's an automatic we rarely even use it. Our driveway is flat and so are most other places we park it.
