This site is for everyone. We all try to help in answering questions. I can see why vaccinating your cat is difficult for you. Unfortunately, the "powers that be" can't confirm that your cat never goes out and the danger of rabies is very real. It is a killer of animals and humans, too. The treatment for rabies is not enjoyable and is very expensive. These laws are to protect everyone. Would a nice vet allow you to pay a few bucks a month for the shots? How about putting it on a credit card with a low interest rate? You keep mentioning that you don't live in a communist country; with freedom comes responsibility.

Where are you in Canada? There are certian area in Canada where it is not mandatory to have you animal vaccinated against the rabies virus. Have you contacted your local animal shelter regarding free or reduced cost vaccination? Are they going to follow up with you to find out if you have had the cat vaccinated?
