I'm re-hooked on Second Life!

I've played Second Life for over a year. My playtime has had it's ups and downs ,but now I'm back into playing and actually trying to make money again. That partially explains my recent absence. For my friends that know nothing about SL It's a virtual world where people use linden dollars to buy and sell things. Linden dollars can be bought with real-life cash, but can also be turned back into it. If you get a product together that ends up selling a lot you can make some substantial extra income. I have a couple of items that sell for just over $10 USD each that sell a couple of dollars a month, but I usually end up re-spending it on fun stuff in SL. You can do almost anything in Second Life. It's like the real world but a bit less moderated. They're finally cracking down on some things that were worrying me. I think that's one of the things that are making me more willing to give it a try again. If any of you are interested in having a look at SL the URL for the site is www.secondlife.com If you are thinking about joining I can give you a referral name if you private message me, but it's not all that important. If you try it I hope you enjoy yourself.

I was going to get hooked on second life. Unfortunatly, I dont know squat about the game, and nobody is responding to my posts. I just learned how to move. But Im still need to learn the hole point of the game. I see that alot of people around me are haveing the same problems as me, so I guess Im just on the tutorial stage of the game. I am just stuck on how to complete the annoying Island. Im following the random roads, but they always end up in the same place. So can someone teach me how the game works? Ill be happy.

I probably could a bit. You can kind of decide the point. There are all kinds of things to do there. Some people choose more sleazy habitats, some people have a whole second life with a spouse etc... others just create things, socialize, roleplay or whatever. It takes a few days to get used to things, but there are all sorts of classes you can take when you get in there. Especially at a place called New Citizens Inc.

I tried out Second Life last winter and was really dissapointed with it. I loved the whole aspect of customizing your character, and getting to go shopping and buy houses and all of that stuff but the system was often unstable or down. There was a lot of scripts being pushed around the place, too, so it was a bit frustrating. I never bought a membership, so I probably didn't have as much fun as a paying member would, but since it was down so much I didn't think it was worth the money. It sounds like things have improved since I left.

If you ever decide to try it again don't hang around welcome areas. Those are the laggiest most griefed places in the whole game. Try using the search function and put in a hobby you have. You might find somewhere fun.

I took a look at the site and it looks like it is like the Sims, but it looks more realistic. It looks pretty interesting.
