Disney World has several budget minded resorts, but the rooms are a little small. These run around $89 per night. Disney's Music Resort, Sports resort, Movie resort, etc. If you can afford a little more, say - $129 a night - you can get 2 double beds and a pull out sofa at the Port Orleans resort and have all the amenities of the bigger resorts on a smaller budget. Keep in mind that if you do stay on Disney property you can go to any of the resort properties to enjoy their pools, restaurants and activities just by showing your room key. Offsite you can get rooms for as little as $39 per night at Days Inn, etc. on a regular basis.

Yes, it's a beautiful place. The reason that I stayed offsite because my sister lives in Tampa and I don't have a sense of direction.

It is a very magical place to be. If we had relatives that lived close by we would probably be staying with them aswell.

We've been a few times. The last time I went was back in 1993-94 though LOL so it's been awhile. We stayed off site at a Ramada I think? It was next to a little place called Old Town it was like a strip mall that had really cool and unique stores like holigram stores, make your own video stores, wild west dress up, magic shops, puppet shops, etc. It even had Bungee Jumping. I think we did that because it was cheaper at the time. I think there may be benefits to staying onsite though. Like early access to the park and stuff like that.

Thanks. I went in 1987 and we stayed offsite. I don't think that there was much choice back then except for the monorail resorts. I agree staying onsite may cost a few extra bucks but it is well worth it.

Yes, I've been there. I stayed offsite, because the hotel rates were less offsite than at Disney World. If I went again, though, I think I'd pay more and stay there.

I have been....once. I would love to be able to take my kids so they could experience it as well. We didn't stay onsite. But the experience was great. I was a teenager and went with a large group of cloggers and performed at Sea World, Disney's Magical Musical Revue! It was a blast!

i was there last year for my honeymoon. it was amazing. we stayed at the polynesian. i think staying onsite is so much better. you also get the extra time in the parks. we did a Wishes package which was great. the 2 wishes a day that we got went towards meals so we never had to pay for a single meal. our only spending money was for mementos. have a great time!

Yes, I have been many times and stayed on site and off. The best was staying on site because of the ease of getting to the park. We stayed in a hotel that had the monrail going thru the lobby so all you had to do was hop on and go.
