Were you scammed?

Everywhere I turn these days, I see ads for data processing, typing jobs that promise quick cash in exchange for transcription services. Problem is, most of these sites insist that I purchase some sort of ebook or membership to get in on the money. I'm not sure if that's the path for me. I've tried some of that stuff in the past, and it never works out. Fortunately, I never invested money. But, I have heard of people who spent over $100 only to have their money taken from them over a minor terms of service infraction. Or, some other bogus reason. Sounds fishy to me. Has this happened to you? Have you been scammed by a fake paid to type/data entry job? How much money did you lose?

Yeah, if you want money, it's a scam, as far as I'm concerned.

I haven't been scammed. I always look at the web sites before I go ahead and decide on what it's worth. I don't believe in paying for work no matter what the situation is. If it's about trying to make a business then yes money will have to be invested of course. For something like Data Entry, you should never have to pay for work no matter what it is.

I've not been scammed either, but it is mainly because I am too chicken, (or too cheap) to take a chance. I've heard a lot of people have been scammed, and I would also appreciate people letting us know which situations are scams so the rest of us know to keep away from them.
