Do you give $$ to any charitable causes?

I will admit it, I am an animal nut. If I have extra money at the end of the month, it goes to the local "no-kill" animal shelter, or to another global wildlife cause.
During Thanksgiving and Christmas, we also donate to the local homeless shelter so that people less fortunate can have a nice meal.
Do you donate to any causes/organizations? If so, which ones?

Oh yes we have what they call Warm The Neighbor fund through our electic company. So I round up on our eletric bill to give to that. I also give to the disabled vets foundation, childrens cancer society, and Dornbecer's Childrens Hospital

That is great! Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the amount of letters I get from various charities. I have to tell myself that I can't give to everyone, so I try to make what I can give count.

In China, many charitable organizations will engage in some activities contributions, but I have very little participation, I did not know that I have donated will be used, whether charitable cause above. This community has too many people through charity in the name of profit. I do not want the one I love wasted

I sometimes wonder too if what I am giving is actually going to the cause or just to admin costs. I try to research an organization before I give to it.

For me it is an obligation every year and i should not be over concerned to extra after paying 2.5% Zakat tax which is an obligation for every muslim who have more then 85 grams of GOLD or equivalent ammount of cash or Assets which is not our necessity .........
