You are not alone. People think that the capital of Australia is Sydney, as it's one of the biggest cities. It was also the landing of the 1st fleet. However the capital of Australia is Canberra. Most people don't know that either.

I come from multi racial country, Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur is the capital of my country. In the earlier days no one knows the name of my capital city as the beautiful old city Penang, which located in an island near the northwest part of the peninsula is more popular. This old city is famous of its natural beautiful beaches and seascapes and the local delicious street foods as well. My capital city is now well known of its unique building, the Twin Towers. Yeah I know very well, Jerusalem is the capital city of your country, Israel. The capital of my country is Jerusalem, just like yours. It would always be our capital no matter what other people would say or thing. this days i wish all the best for our people especially in the south side of israel.

I'm originally from the Philippines and our capital is still and always will be Manila. I'm currently based in Singapore, and it is an island city state. So we don't have a capital, and I actually just write "Singapore City" whenever I fill up forms requiring which city I stay in. I would love to visit Jerusalem one of these days, it's on my list of "places to visit".
