Letter writing an art forgotten

Letter writing was an art, we started with salutation, then asked about their health, and ended with salutation and best wishes. With e-mail we use abbreviations, short continuous sentences. What do you prefer letters or e-mails. When was the last time you wrote a letter? I still preserve letters written by my loved ones.

nowadays almost all people have cellphone. i am into a long distance relationship, i prefer to use e-mail and texting coz for me snail me takes time before it reaches my hubby. so for me it is more convenient and more easy if i use e-mail and through texting...

yes I agree, for speed and convenience cell and email are indispensable, but do you remember reading letters from your loved ones, over and over again, keeping them safely in a box, and going through them when you feel lonely or sad. Cells, SMS and emails are not that romantic.
