Why is water wet?

Just got this question from my niece. Hope to share it with you. It's kinda funny. Hope you have an answer. I just told her "because it is not dry".

Of course it's wet because it's liquid and you can always feel its wetness.

water is wet because it is a liquid and liquid is always wet and i think that there is no better definition than this for it.

It is a liquid and when you take it on your palm....it evaporates....and you feel wet..because your body temperature is higher.
