Carlye, my new cute little kitten has an eye infection and has had it for a week or more. The vet gave us medicine to give her but it doesn't seem to be working all that well. We went back to the vet today and were given some more of the same medicine with new directions of giving it to her more often and to come back in two weeks. Has anyone else's kitten had this, they said it was a virus thing, and how long did it take for the kitty to get over it. I guess what I am asking is how worried should I be about my little kitten?

You need a tube of erythromycin, it sounds like. You really need to smear a good amount along the crease of the lower portion of the eye, it may seem uncomfy to the kitty at first, but you're doing the best thing.

It that the best way to get that stuff in her eyes? We have been having trouble with that. Thanks!

Smear a thick roll of it right below the eye then pull the lower lid down and smear it up and across. It's ok to get messy.Good luck and I hope she feels better!:)
