Do ou love it, like it, tolerate it or hat it? I do not mind ironing if and when I have the time for it. However, I work all day and then to come home and still think about doing ironing, then I just want to rather die. I have always made sure that I have someone to do my ironing, especially after getting married. Now my sister and I have thought about opening a little business that does people's ironing for them. They drop it off, we charge a per kilo rate and we get their ironing done for them and then we sms them when it is done and ready for collection. We are starting on the 2nd July and will have someone run it from my home as both of us work full time. And then we are going to see how it goes and if this little business can give other woman a chance to work for an income. I am excited to see how it all pans out.

I would say I TOLERATE it. Given a choice, I would rather not iron. But someone must see to the clothes. :P On good days, I can get into a meditative state when ironing. So that's useful. ;-)

Yip I know the feeling hey! I was just laughing last night when Carl asked me what I will do if I have 20 people's ironing to do on the day we start and only one lady to iron. I told him I will make a plan to get more quick quick, because I will not come home from work and stand and iron somebody else's ironing... there is just no chance of that happening... Thanks alot for the resonse...LOL

I hope that this goes well for you. We don't seem to need anything ironed here anymore in the states. We don't even have that many cleaners anymore with the modern fabrics. Kind of sad to see all that go from our lives. Again, good luck to you and keep us posted and share some of the funnier things that may happen when you begin to deal with customers.

That certainly is weird that all the clothes you buy does not need ironing. I could not imagine that type of lifestyle. However, Ironing is still big here and we hope to capitalize on this with the start of our service to do people's ironing for them. I will let you guys know what happens and how it pans out. Cheers!

No, I do not like ironing. I'm happy that there are a lot of clothing out there that are "wrinkle free". I usually put clothing (that can wrinkle) in the dryer for about 28 minutes. Then, I smooth it out and hang it on a drying rack or shirt hanger. Only seldomly do I iron. I prefer to keep it that way.

That is an interesting way of not ironing clothes that need to be ironed. I never thought of doing it that way. I still prefer to have my trousers and things ironed. Most of my blouses and shirts do not need to be ironed, but skirts and trousers do... Thanks for the comments.

So will you actually weigh the ironing? That would be a more precise way of doing things of course. Some here in Australia charge by the basket but then they get a really big basket or one packed so tightly and full that it's twice as much as a basket would hold normanlly. Charging by the hour can be tricky as well as you have to trust the ironer not to go too slowly. Good luck with it all.

I hate ironing. I only iron things if i really have to. I hope your business turns out well. Here in Australia, there are quite a few businesses that do this. I think they go alright as well. Best wishes to you, lucille

Ironing is the one household chore that I hate. If I could afford it, I would pay someone to iron my clothes.

Generally, I like ironing. There is no problem for me. I don't treat it as a dull chore. I like ironing especially bedclothes, sheets and dishcloths.
