Im not usually a person who shops around for bargains!! MY shopping bill is huge!!! I was wondering do mant people out there just by specials and hunt for the bargains? I was thinking if i start doing this will it actually bring your grocery bill down ? Do you buy generic brands? Are they just the same as a brand name product? Let me in on your bargain secrets? THANKS!

In Indian markets, I think bargaining is quite important otherwise the shopkeeper will make you a fool out of it. I am very good at bargaining and capable of getting stuff at half the rate many times. bargaining can only be done at the local markets, but not at the retail outlets. I like bargaining as it saves lot of money and I can buy two instead of one. many clothes we buy from local market are good and of better quality with longer shelf life. I have also seen stuff from retail shops not being up to the mark.

Thanks, Yes markets are agreat place to bargain prices down. Here in australia, at major retail shops , not grocery food shops but electronic stores and furniture stores you certainly can. They mark the prices up so high so there is a margain to dosome bartng and get the price down a little, always works for me

Nowadays in India, many retail outlets for grocery have been set up, they sell the grocery and household items a few penny less than M.R.P. So, shopping in departmental stores becomes fun along with money saver. If we are buying grocery of Rs. 1000, we can save around Rs. 50. Its good. Bargains is not possible there but its better than bargains. Isnt it?

When it comes to close I rarely buy a shirt that isn't on sale. You can get a ton of cute clothes even if they are on sale...and you can get more because you're spending less! But that's my problem: I'm going to go broke saving money! Lol.
