I know, I know...I should only try to lose two pounds per week, but I am desperate! Does anyone know of a program out there that successfully helps people to eat healthfully, and lose three pounds per week? I don't want any program that requires supplements, or weight loss medications. 'Just hard work, and healthful eating. If you have any ideas, could you please let me know what has worked for you? Thank you for your input!

What about weight watchers? Have you tried this? When I am on it strict, I usually will loose 3-5 pounds the first week and at least 2 every other week. Add exercise with that and you should do fine.

Hi, and thanks for responding! I have been on Weight Watchers before, and have been successful with it, also. However, I typically only lost two pounds per week, and that was only when I was very strict with the regimine. Thanks so much for your response.

Why are you desperate to do damage to your body? As you know, losing 1-2 pounds per week is healthy. 2 pounds per week should actually only be reserved for larger people. Losing more than this means yor body is going to burn through precious lean muscle mass, which you are relaly going to wish you had later in life. It means depriving your body of what it needs for survival and good functioning. There are really good reasons why losing weight fast is not a good idea. Why would you want to do something harmful? Strict dieting also only starts an even more harmful cycle of yo-yo dieting. Weigh lost fast tends to come back on. Losing weight fast also means a slow down in the metabolism, making future weight gain easier and future weight loss harder. Do your body a favor and be patient. Lose the weight slowly by exericising and eating plenty of healthy foods. You can lose it and keep it off, and make your body healthier in the long run. Sarah Brown www.sarahpersonaltraining.com

I didn't mean to be offensive. My profession is helping people lose weight. I have many women come to me who lost weight too fast, gained it back and thensome, hurt their metabolism and become even more frustrated then ever. I hate seeing that happen to people so I can't sit back and not say anything. And actually, I HAVE gained a significant amount of weight from a medication and then lost it. Personally I refused to let precious muscle mass waste away and harm my body, so I took it slow. But that's just me. I posted to you because I care about seeing people lose weight in the best way possible. If I didn't, it wouldn't be my job. I want to see you be successful!

Thank you for the concern, but I will be successful at it. 'Just very frustrated in the meantime, and venting.

I am a "larger" person right now, and I am truly fed-up with this weight gain. I had to take a medication which made me gain 70 extra pounds of weight, on my small frame, in a little over a year. I have spoken with my doctors who all feel that a weight loss of 2 pounds per week is very healthy. If you had ever possibly gained such a significant amount of weight, in such a short period of time, then you might understand why I initially stated that I want to lose the weight healthfully, but as quickly as possible! No supplements, no starving; just eating healthfully and exercising!

Have you ever tried Medifast? People lose alot of weight and pretty quickly too. I ordered my first month supply and should be getting it in a couple of days (I am so excited) I too have gained almost all my weight from meds (steroids) that I have been put on. Hubby and I are trying to get pregnant so I want to lose as much as possible as quickly as possible. I only want to get preg during certain months so I'm not all huge pregnant during the middle of the worst part of summer which means I better get pregnant this or at the latest next month or I will have to wait almost another year and our clocks are ticking very loudly LOL Let me know what you do and how it works out.

I haven't personally tried this one but I have heard that the new My Alli Diet is supposed to help you lose more weight than regular dieting. You can now get it from most stores. They are saying with a regular diet you can lose a lot more weight. Check it out.

Don't get Alli.. you will not be able to leave the house due to diarrhea and leaking orange grease out your butt!

Well aim for around 1500 cals a day, consisting of good quality foods like, oats, wholmeal spaghetti, brown rice, chicken, tuna, vegetables, leave fruits because they conatin more calories than vegetables. Also aim for at least two litres of water a day. Water aids a lot in fat loss. Exercise should be everyday, try it in the morning before eating anything-this will help burn fat. Boxing, cycling on a stationary bike (could do this whilst watching tv as time goes quicker), aerobics. Start at 3o minutes a day. Try and split your calorie allowance into around 5 meals, eating every 3 hours-this will increase your meatbolic rate and burn fat more quickly. Don't go any lower than 1200 cals as your body will stop losing fat because the body will not be functioning correctly. good luck.

Thanks so much for your ideas! I do eat every three hours, and have started the Weight Watchers program. I have to eat every few hours or else I start to feel weak. I am very "big" on my daily water intake, as well. Thanks again.

Low carb diets like Atkins and South Beach work really well. I've lost 42 pounds in 5 months. I also exercise 4 or 5 times a week for 30 minutes.
