I worked in a craft store about 8 years ago... one of hte most popular classes was decorating photo albums, where you covered them with quilt batting, and then fabric. Sometimes with ruffles and lace on the edges and ribbons to tie them closed. Mostly people did wedding photo albums, but you could do anything with them really. Personally, I love doing this. I prefer it to scrapbooking, tho I'm working on a way of covering a photo album so that it looks like a scrapbook page. I actually just covered a photo album and sent it to my son's paternal grandmother. The fabric I used was cotton from one of my son's old crib sheets that he had painted one day when we were out of paper and boxes for him to paint. I thought it would be a nice place for her to keep pictures of him.

I used to do it with my albums but now I do not do it, just buy different designer albums. In the past i also used to design the cover with lace and ribbon, it really looked nice and beautiful Even though all of the pictures are now digital still i print all of them and arrange them in albums to make the archive. i like to see the albums in my spare time or show them to any friends and family or any guest come to our house. I love to keep all my photo in albus a nd its so nostalgic when i se the very old albums and photos.
