Do people enjoy serials based on their own profession?

hrm yeah,i think what you do everyday may affect on your favourite tv shows.i might not be a doctor but i am studying in the field of biotechnology and somehow watching Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Bones and other medical-related shows is more interesting then watching The Practice.oh but I do enjoy Judging Amy!

Hmm , my father is a doctor. He HATES house but thinks Scrubs is really funny.

I have always wondered if Doctors would like Shows like Greys Anatomy, ER, etc. I am sure there are some that watch these type of shows, and then go, NO, that's not how it's done, while there are others that sit there and laugh and enjoy these shows wishing it could be like that for them. But I have never asked a Doctor if they watch these type to see. But I can imagine quite a few of them doing so when they get home just to rewind.

I work as a Legal Assistant and I love courtroom shows... probably because I never actually see the inside of the courtroom. But I do believe that people enjoy watching shows based on their own professions to a certain degree. My wife is a nursing student and she loves medical shows; but she hates some of them, too. I think there is some appeal there, but I am usually pretty interested in legal cases.

i think they enjoy it as much. and yes a a nursing student, really can relate to the show.

I think they may watch these shows with a sense of humor~I can't imagine a real Dr. Cox or a Denny Crane running around, that would be too interesting!!!!

i think that they DO analyze those shows. but they also relate to how those ppl miss their family, or can't be with their family...like on law & order
